Update on the new Integrate Library System (ILS):

Circulation with Aleph500 was launched on February 14, 2011 in 10 Faculty and Departmental libraries at ELTE:

  • BTK SEAS Library
  • BTK German Institute Library
  • BTK LIS Institute Library
  • BTK Central Reading Room
  • BTK Far East Institute Library
  • University Library
  • Centre Interuniversitaire d.Études Françaises Bibliotheque
  • Faculty of Informatics Library
  • Faculty of Elementary and Nursery School Teachers' Training Library
  • Faculty of Science Library
  • and two more Faculty libraries (Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology Library and Bárczi Gusztáv Faculty of Special Education Library) will be integrated later this year.

    New features: Easier registration procedure, having one global patron form with local library privileges. New, common ELTE library card for non-students, and the Student-ID for students is issued from now on. Users can Sign-in to use My Library Card to create a personal profile for keeping track of their loans, renewals, requests.

    New services: English interface for international students and faculty, more sophisticated search options from basic through multi-field to advanced, multi-base search in several library catalogs nation- and world-wide, online renewals, requests are available.

    Update on the migration progress:

    Testing the new integrated library system and training librarians is well underway, according to the schedule. Please note that during the migration the internet access to the union catalogue of ELTE will be available, but cataloguing and circulation will be down for about 2 weeks (January 29–February 13, 2011). No checkin, checkout, and library card clearance for final exams and other cases (international students, students exiting their majors) will be possible.

    The SEAS library will be closed during this period. Dates due for this period will be automatically modified for February 14, 2011.

    Regular service is scheduled to resume on Monday, February 14, 2011.

    ELTE is migrating to a new integrated library system called Aleph500 during January 2011. The internet access to the union catalogue of ELTE will be available, but cataloguing won't be available for a month and a half, while circulation will be down for about 2 weeks (January 29–February 11, 2011). Please return all library material before January 29, 2011.

    The SEAS library will be closed during the registration week. Regular service will resume on Monday, February 14, 2011.

    We'll keep you up-to-date as the migration progresses if there are any changes.
